Cleaning Medical Offices

One area we specialize in at Wright Cleaning Services Inc. is medical offices.  We say specialize because there are so many variables to consider based on the type of medical office being serviced.  Cleaning these facilities requires the knowledge to know which cleaners to use and which areas need to be concentrated on the most. This is especially true during the Covid-19 pandemic. Although the rules have currently changed for visiting medical offices, the rules for proper cleaning have not and eventually we will return to times when visits to our doctors will return.  Let’s consider the differences in medical offices.

If we look at a Dentist’s office, chances are that patients are in good health when they come in for an appointment.  A Doctor’s office, however, can be a different story. Typically people visit the doctor because they aren’t feeling well.  Cleaning times in these offices are longer so that a thorough job can be done. Disposal of “Sharps Buckets” or “Red Bags” may be necessary and the handling of these items requires special training.

Perhaps the office is that of a pediatrician.  While adults tend to sit still while they wait to go into their appointments, children tend to be more mobile.  Therefore, paying special attention to surfaces and areas four feet high and lower is imperative.  Using the proper cleaner for any toys that may be in the waiting room is important for the health and safety of any children that will be playing with them.

Sometimes a medical facility will house doctors such as oncologists.  Cancer patients who may be undergoing chemo treatments can be highly sensitive to any kind of germs or infection.  Disinfecting these offices becomes of the utmost importance to keep them as safe as possible.  It is in these types of critical areas that professional knowledge is needed.

One of the hazards of the professional cleaning trade is that most people don’t really think about who cleans a particular facility until they notice that something isn’t clean.  In fact, if we do our jobs correctly, people don’t have to think about us at all.  They simply know that when they enter one of our customers’ businesses, it feels fresh and healthy.  They don’t have to worry about cleanliness because it isn’t an issue.

Creating a clean environment is very rewarding for someone in our field of expertise and it becomes even more important when we are creating it in a medical facility.  We understand that beloved family members may be coming into these buildings with life threatening diseases.  We know that their families are worried about them and that they can sometimes feel scared and alone.  If we can ensure that we do our part to help them stay as healthy as possible on their journeys, that is just our way of giving back.  Yes, we are all in business to make a living and yes, we want to do well; but knowing that what we do makes a difference is what makes us strive to be the best we can be.
